what to paint... thinking...

I went out plein air painting this morning and it was disastrous.  I'm glad no one else was there to see!  So I'm now back in my studio contemplating what to paint.  I need to reassure myself that I still know how!  thinking, thinking...

Oh my goodness! Your painting abilities are sublime! It's hard for me to believe you have days like today, but I guess that's encouraging to people like me. Thank you for your constant inspiration, Rachel!

Be encouraged!! :) I've heard the "painter's block" complaint from artists much more experienced than me, so I know it's common. all the best to you in your painting endeavors!

Rachel, I happened upon your blog and was relieved to hear that I am not the only one that runs into these "walls"-or painter's block. One day, everything seems to click; then the next day I "draw" a blank. I just keep plugging away and when I look back on my old work, I see the improvement. Be encouraged. Eileen

It is nice to have company, isn't it? :) but also nice to hear that others get through it. I think something you said is key-- just keep plugging away and eventually it kicks back in.
