This was an overcast day along the Deschutes River. This has in it all the things I love to paint: clouds, trees, water, rocks, receding hills... the river was sweeping along, the hills were sweeping along, the clouds were sweeping along... and I got swept along with it all.

I see the sweep! Great little painting...is it plein air?
no-- it's from a photograph i took while doing my next-to-last plein air of last season ("Shoulder Season"), before it got too cold to take the baby out. I love the Deschutes area, and thank Donna Van Tuyl for introducing me to it!
