My last few paintings, which were inter-related, inspired me to take a stab at a true triptych, and this is the result. I enjoyed the process, and will probably try it again.
These paintings all came from a scene that is sandwiched between a vehicle storage yard and a grocery store parking lot. Serenity admidst clutter! I painted them in a round-robin fashion, getting all of them started and rotating them on and off my easel as I completed them.
This is a studio version of a plein air painting done at Mayer State Park. I love these hills in the eastern gorge, and will probably continue to accept their (painting) challenge. (I won't be climbing them anytime soon!)
Located in North Bend, Washington, near the Snoqualmie National Forest, Moutn Si is a beautiful outcropping of rock right in the middle of civilization. It's pretty incredible to drive by it and look up and up as it towers over you.
I paint because it brings me a sense of satisfaction and ease. Whether it's landscapes or still lifes, I am reminded of the depth and complexity of the world I otherwise often take for granted. My goal is to share that sense of wonder and awe through my paintings.
All paintings are for sale; please email me for details.
